TimTheTatman says he turned down a six-figure sponsorship to play ARC Raiders for four hours because his frustration with the game outweighed the money being offered.
The streamer revealed the deal during a September 2 broadcast. He did not disclose the exact amount or identify who made the offer, but said even a six-figure payment was not enough to convince him to return to the game.
Tim said his experience with ARC Raiders had frustrated him to the point where he no longer wanted to play it.
"For me, that game frustrated me so much that I never want to play it again," he said, adding that it reached a point where "six figures couldn't get me back on it."
The proposed sponsorship would have required four hours of gameplay. Tim joked that his answer would have been different if the offer had reached seven figures, but he declined the deal he was actually given.
The exact value remains unknown beyond Tim describing it as a six-figure offer.
The decision stands out because Tim had previously left the door open to playing ARC Raiders again for sponsored content.
When asked earlier this year whether he could see himself returning, Tim said he had no desire to play under normal circumstances but would consider coming back for an advertisement and checking out a new update.
"If they want to do an ad, sure," he said at the time. "I'll check out an update or something, but otherwise, no. I just don't have a desire."
His latest comments show that an ARC Raiders sponsorship opportunity eventually arrived, but the amount offered was still not enough to change his mind.
After revealing that he rejected the deal, Tim responded to viewers questioning why he would turn down that much money for four hours of streaming.
He said he probably should not have mentioned the offer and described himself as being "damned if I do and damned if I don't."
Tim argued that accepting the sponsorship would have led to people calling him a sellout, while rejecting it resulted in criticism for walking away from the money.
He has not indicated that he reconsidered the offer or plans to return to ARC Raiders.
