01Overview
Ninja Gaiden 4 is an action-adventure game that brings the series’ fast, demanding combat into a near-future Tokyo covered by an endless rain of miasma. Players primarily control Yakumo, a young ninja whose fate is connected to returning protagonist Ryu Hayabusa. The campaign pits them against cybernetic ninja soldiers, fiends, and other enemies while combining close-range combat with high-speed traversal. Yakumo can switch between standard attacks and Bloodraven Form, which consumes gauge resources to break guards, stagger powerful enemies, and transform how his weapons function. Combat includes familiar Ninja Gaiden techniques such as the Flying Swallow, Izuna Drop, Ultimate Techniques, and instant Obliteration attacks against dismembered enemies. Yakumo uses several weapons that change form through Bloodraven abilities, while Ryu has his own combat style built around the Dragon Sword and Gleam State. Adjustable difficulty ranges from assist-focused Hero mode to Master Ninja, and completing the story unlocks Trials with special combat conditions. Chapter Select also allows completed stages to be replayed as either Yakumo or Ryu.
