Palworld is a multiplayer open-world survival game developed by Pocketpair that combines creature collecting with crafting, base building and combat. Set across the Palpagos Islands, players capture mysterious creatures called Pals, which can fight alongside them, serve as mounts or work at player-built bases. Survival involves gathering resources, crafting weapons and equipment, exploring dungeons and constructing increasingly elaborate settlements. Different Pals have skills suited to jobs such as farming, mining, generating electricity and producing items, allowing players to automate parts of their bases as they expand. Pals can also be bred to inherit characteristics from their parents, giving players another way to develop stronger companions. Combat combines player-controlled firearms and other weapons with Pal abilities, while exploration can take place across land, sea and air using suitable creatures as mounts. Palworld can be played alone or with other players, with online co-op and dedicated multiplayer servers supporting shared worlds. Its mixture of colorful creature collecting, survival mechanics and deliberately darker humour gives Palworld a distinctive approach to the monster-taming formula.
