Pokémon Scarlet is an open-world role-playing game for Nintendo Switch set in the Paldea region. The game allows players to explore freely, with towns blending into wilderness areas and wild Pokémon appearing throughout the landscape. Players catch, battle, and train Pokémon while attending Naranja Academy and taking part in a Treasure Hunt built around three main story paths: Victory Road, Starfall Street, and Path of Legends. These paths can be tackled in a largely open order, leading to Gym battles, encounters with Team Star, and searches for powerful Titan Pokémon. Pokémon Scarlet introduces the Terastal phenomenon, which lets a Pokémon change to its Tera Type during battle and can strengthen moves that match that type. Players travel across Paldea with the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon, whose movement abilities expand as the adventure progresses. The Let’s Go feature allows a lead Pokémon to explore nearby areas, collect items, and battle wild Pokémon automatically. Local and online multiplayer supports up to four players exploring together, trading, battling, and participating in Tera Raid Battles against powerful Terastallized Pokémon.

In this year's annual school trip, students from various schools - including you! - will be sent to the land of Kitakami, where people live at the feet of tall, towering mountains and the tranquil landscape is teeming with nature unfamiliar to Paldea, flourishing among rice paddies and apple orchards. At this time of year, the villages hold festivals, bustling with all kinds of stalls and stands. Make new friends and meet new Pokémon as you unravel the old legends of Kitakami. - You need to have begun the Treasure Hunt in Pokémon Scarlet to access the main story of Part 1: The Teal Mask. It takes approximately 3 hours of play to unlock the Treasure Hunt, depending on the player.

In this adventure, you'll be transferred from Naranja Academy to its sister school, Blueberry Academy. Unlike Naranja Academy, with its long and rich history, this school was only recently established and has a focus on teaching Pokémon battles. What's unique about Blueberry Academy is that a large part of it is actually in the sea! Attend lessons, mingle with the local students and experience a new school life that's anything but ordinary. - You need to have completed the ending of Pokémon Scarlet and Part 1: The Teal Mask to access the main story of Part 2: The Indigo Disk.
