The campaign gradually moves beyond the test chambers into older sections of Aperture, revealing more about the facility and its history. Portal 2 expands the original mechanics with new puzzle elements including Repulsion, Propulsion, and Conversion Gels, Excursion Funnels, Hard Light Bridges, and Aerial Faith Plates. These systems interact with portals in different ways and become increasingly combined as the campaign progresses. A separate cooperative campaign follows the robots Atlas and P-body through tests designed specifically for two players.
