Resident Evil Requiem is a survival horror game that follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and veteran DSO agent Leon S. Kennedy through connected investigations tied to a mysterious series of deaths and the ruins of Raccoon City. Grace travels to the abandoned Wrenwood Hotel, where her mother was murdered years earlier, while Leon investigates the wider outbreak. Their sections use different styles of play, with Grace focused more heavily on limited resources, exploration and survival, while Leon is equipped for faster, more aggressive combat. Both characters can be played from either a first-person or third-person perspective. Core gameplay combines combat, investigation, puzzle solving and resource management. Grace has restricted carrying capacity and can use infected enemy blood to craft ammunition and injectors, making decisions about when to fight or avoid enemies important. Leon has access to firearms, a hatchet, melee attacks and parries, and can even use certain enemy weapons during combat. His equipment is managed through an attaché case, with weapons that can be upgraded using customizable parts. The two campaigns intersect as the story returns to locations connected to the original Raccoon City disaster.
