Stardew Valley is an open-ended country-life RPG where players inherit their grandfather’s old farm and begin a new life in the valley. Starting with basic tools and a small amount of money, players clear overgrown fields, grow seasonal crops, raise animals, plant orchards, and craft machines that turn raw materials into more valuable goods. Life extends well beyond farming, with fishing, foraging, mining, cooking, and combat all contributing to character progression. Five main skills improve through use and unlock new recipes, professions, and abilities as the farm develops. Pelican Town is home to more than 30 residents with their own schedules, personalities, and relationships. Players can build friendships, date eligible townsfolk, marry, and start a family. The damaged Community Center provides a long-term restoration project, while supporting Joja Corporation offers an alternative progression route. Mines contain monsters, resources, and increasingly valuable materials, while seasonal festivals and quests add activities throughout the year. Multiplayer allows up to eight players on supported platforms to share a farm, divide responsibilities, and develop the valley together.
