01Overview

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a crossover fighting game for Nintendo Switch and the fifth main entry in the series. It brings back every playable fighter from previous installments alongside newcomers such as Inkling, Ridley, Simon Belmont, and Isabelle. Battles focus on damaging opponents to increase their percentage, which makes them easier to launch off the stage. Players can compete under customizable rules using stocks or time limits, with items and stage hazards either enabled or disabled. Matches support up to eight players locally, while online play supports smaller battles. Beyond standard Smash battles, the game includes Squad Strike, Classic Mode, training options, and the single-player adventure World of Light. Its Spirits system lets players collect characters represented as equippable bonuses that modify fighter stats or provide additional abilities, and these mechanics feature heavily throughout World of Light. More than 100 stages draw from Nintendo and other game series, with Battlefield and Final Destination variants available for every stage. Stage Morph can also switch between two selected stages during a match, giving players another way to customize battles.
