01Overview
The Talos Principle 2 is a first-person puzzle game that expands on the original’s philosophical themes, environments, and increasingly complex challenges. Biological humanity is extinct, but its culture survives in New Jerusalem, a city inhabited by robots. Playing as the city’s newest citizen, players join an expedition to investigate a mysterious island and an enormous megastructure. Conversations, exploration, and decisions examine questions about consciousness, civilization, progress, and whether this new society should repeat or reject humanity’s ambitions. Puzzles require players to redirect energy beams, operate switches, move objects, and combine devices to reach each area’s goal. Established tools and mechanics return alongside new abilities involving gravity manipulation and mind transference. The campaign spans varied open environments containing required challenges, optional puzzles, hidden secrets, metapuzzles, and more difficult Gold puzzles. Not every puzzle must be completed to finish the story, while solving additional challenges rewards thorough exploration. Dialogue choices, relationships with other characters, and the positions players take during philosophical debates influence the course of events and lead toward multiple endings.
