01Overview
Thick as Thieves is a stealth-action heist game set in the shadow-draped streets of Kilcairn, an alternate-history 1910s Scottish city where magic and early technology have begun to collide. As a newly recruited member of the Thieves’ Guild, players undertake contracts to steal precious heirlooms and uncover arcane secrets hidden inside heavily guarded locations. Missions can be played solo or in two-player online co-op. Players choose between two thieves, the Spider and the Chameleon, each with their own abilities, then use observation, timing, and improvisation to enter restricted areas without being caught. Heists support different routes and approaches, with security layouts and guard configurations changing as the difficulty increases. Players can remain in the shadows, create distractions, manipulate security systems, or use specialized equipment to reach their target. Gadgets include Slithersap for disabling lights, Smoke Bombs for breaking enemy sightlines, and a Pickpocket Fairy that can activate switches from a distance. Contracts are designed for repeated attempts, encouraging players to learn each location and experiment with different tools and routes.
