01Overview
XCOM 2 is a turn-based tactical strategy game developed by Firaxis Games. Set after humanity loses the war against the alien invasion, players rebuild XCOM as a resistance force fighting to overthrow the occupying ADVENT regime. Missions revolve around commanding small squads across grid-based battlefields where positioning, cover and ability use are essential. Soldiers belong to different classes, gain experience and can be customized with new skills, weapons and equipment. Between missions, players manage the Avenger, a mobile headquarters used to research alien technology, build facilities and contact resistance cells around the world. Permadeath means experienced soldiers can be lost permanently, making every tactical decision important as the campaign becomes increasingly difficult.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen adds extensive new content in the fight against Advent when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the “Chosen,” emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander. This expansion includes new Hero classes to counter the “Chosen”, new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay.
