01Overview
ARK: Survival Ascended is a next-generation remaster of ARK: Survival Evolved, rebuilt from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5. Players awaken on a mysterious island and must survive by gathering resources, crafting tools, building shelters and learning to tame the prehistoric creatures that inhabit the world. Survival is built around exploration and progression. Players can hunt or domesticate dinosaurs and other creatures, construct increasingly advanced bases, farm resources and develop new technology as they explore dangerous environments. Creatures can be bred and trained for different purposes, including transportation, resource gathering and combat. Players can tackle the world alone or join multiplayer servers where tribes can work together, build settlements and compete with rival survivors. Survival Ascended brings ARK's original maps and expansion content into the remastered game over time, alongside new creatures, items and additional content. It also includes Survival of the Fittest and supports a cross-platform modding ecosystem across PC and consoles. The move to Unreal Engine 5 introduces redesigned environments and technology intended to modernize the original ARK experience while retaining its core survival, building and creature-taming systems.
