Assetto Corsa is a racing simulator built around detailed vehicle physics and officially licensed cars. Its physics engine models systems including tire flat spots, heat cycles with graining and blistering, aerodynamic behavior, movable aerodynamic parts, and hybrid energy recovery. Cars are developed with input from manufacturers, racing teams, and drivers, while many circuits use laser-scan data to reproduce real-world track layouts and surfaces. Players can adjust driving assists and car setups, making the simulation accessible with a gamepad while also supporting steering wheels and more advanced racing hardware. The base game includes single-player and multiplayer racing alongside Career mode, Practice, Special Events, Quick Race, Race Weekend, drift challenges, and drag racing. Race weekends can include practice, qualifying, and race sessions, while custom championships allow players to organize their own series. Track conditions change as cars deposit rubber on the racing line, and time-of-day settings affect lighting based on the circuit location.
