01Overview
Borderlands 2 is a first-person looter shooter where players choose from four Vault Hunters and fight across the dangerous planet of Pandora. Axton, Maya, Salvador, and Zer0 each have their own action skill and three skill trees that support different combat builds. The story follows their attempt to stop Handsome Jack, the leader of the Hyperion Corporation, while searching for a new Vault. Combat combines firearms, grenades, shields, and character abilities, with enemies dropping procedurally generated weapons and equipment that vary in manufacturer, statistics, elemental effects, and special properties. The campaign can be played solo or in online co-op with up to four players, with teammates able to combine their class abilities during fights. Pandora contains connected regions filled with story missions, optional quests, enemy camps, bosses, and hidden loot. Players earn experience to unlock skills and improve their characters while continually replacing equipment with stronger finds. Vehicles provide faster travel and additional firepower across larger areas. After completing the campaign, True Vault Hunter Mode allows players to replay the story against tougher enemies while continuing their character progression.
