01Overview

Borderlands 4 is a looter shooter where players become one of four new Vault Hunters and travel to the planet Kairos in search of wealth, powerful weapons, and alien Vaults. The planet is ruled by the Timekeeper, a dictator who controls its population through cybernetic implants and an army known as the Order. Players explore four connected regions, complete story and side missions, fight bosses, and collect procedurally generated weapons and equipment. Each Vault Hunter has unique Action Skills and branching skill trees that support different character builds and approaches to combat. Movement has been expanded with abilities such as double jumping, gliding, dodging, grappling, and climbing, allowing players to move more freely during fights and exploration. A summonable Digirunner vehicle provides faster travel across Kairos. The campaign can be played solo or in online co-op with up to four players. Cooperative play uses individual loot, level scaling, and separate difficulty settings so players at different progression levels can remain in the same party while completing missions and exploring together.
