Bounce Quest Goes Free to Play on Steam After Originally Costing $4.99
Previously priced at $4.99, Bounce Quest is now free on Steam, offering a punishing mountain climb across six areas with 12 collectible cube skins.
Bounce Quest, a challenging 2D platformer developed by nozech, is now free to play on Steam after previously costing $4.99. The price change took effect on October 13, 2026, allowing PC players to access the full game without making a purchase.
The game originally entered Early Access in November 2024 before receiving its full release on June 30, 2025. It challenges players to guide a small bouncing cube up a dangerous mountain, where a single mistake can undo much of their progress.
One wrong jump can send players back down the mountain

Bounce Quest is built around precise movement and difficult platforming challenges. Players must control their cube's momentum, time their jumps carefully, and navigate obstacles as they climb toward the mountain's summit.
Unlike platformers that offer frequent opportunities to recover from mistakes, a poorly timed jump can send players bouncing far down the mountain. Reaching higher ground requires practice, patience, and a better understanding of how the cube moves.
The game encourages repeated attempts, with players gradually improving their ability to navigate difficult sections and avoid costly falls.
Six areas and collectible cube skins add to the challenge

Bounce Quest features six distinct areas, each introducing obstacles and challenges designed to make the climb more difficult. Players must adapt to different hazards as they work toward the summit and uncover what awaits at the top.
There are also 12 collectible cube skins scattered throughout the map. Finding them gives players additional goals while exploring the mountain and allows them to customize their character.
The game is designed for single-player and includes Steam achievements.
Bounce Quest is free without a limited-time claim deadline
The Steam price change is different from a temporary free-to-keep promotion. SteamDB records show that a free license was added on October 13, while the game's current Steam listing identifies it as free to play.
Developer nozech has not publicly explained the decision to remove the original price.
Players can access Bounce Quest directly through its Steam store page, which now offers a free installation option. No deadline has been announced for the game's free availability.
