F1 25 leads October's PlayStation Plus monthly games

Three games join PlayStation Plus on October 6, led by Codemasters' F1 25 on PS5, with claims available through November 2

Sony has announced October 2026's PlayStation Plus monthly games, with F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 joining the service. All three games will be available to PlayStation Plus members from October 6 through November 2.

F1 25 and Hunt: Showdown 1896 will be offered on PlayStation 5, while Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 includes both PS5 and PS4 versions. Members who claim the games during the availability window can continue accessing them while their PlayStation Plus membership remains active.

F1 25 brings Codemasters' latest Formula 1 game to PS Plus

Codemasters' F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship and launched in May 2025. Its PlayStation Plus version will be available only on PS5.

The racing game includes traditional Career Mode alongside My Team 2.0, where players manage their own Formula 1 team. F1 World also includes multiplayer options, including a mode where groups of players can race together as a squad against AI-controlled drivers.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 joins on PS5

Crytek's Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the second PS5 game in October's lineup. The extraction shooter sends players into dangerous environments where they hunt supernatural targets while also competing against other players trying to secure the same bounty.

Players can enter matches alone or form teams of up to three before tracking bosses and attempting to escape with their rewards. Sony is also adding a separate Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack for PlayStation Plus members on October 6 as part of its HorrorFest promotion.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 supports PS4 and PS5

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 completes the October lineup and is the only game of the three available on both PS4 and PS5. The spin-off uses a voxel-style version of the EDF universe, with players assembling a four-character team from rescued soldiers.

The roster includes characters from the mainline Earth Defense Force games and previous spin-offs, while familiar enemies return alongside new threats. The game supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen play on PlayStation consoles.

September's monthly games leave on October 5

PlayStation Plus members have until October 5 to claim September's lineup before the October games arrive. That selection includes Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes.

F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 become available on October 6. Members have until November 2 to add all three games to their libraries.
