Steam Cooking Fest 2026 starts today with discounts and demos

October 12, 2026·3 min read

Steam Cooking Fest 2026 brings a week of food-themed game promotions, with major discounts, new cooperative restaurant games and playable demos.

Steam Cooking Fest 2026 begins on October 12, bringing a week of discounts, demos and upcoming releases focused on cooking, restaurants and food service. Valve has scheduled the event to run from 10 a.m. PDT on October 12 until the same time on October 19.

The full festival page was not yet live at the time of publication, so the complete list of event-specific discounts was still unavailable. Several participating developers have already confirmed promotions, while some cooking games are discounted ahead of the official start.

PlateUp is already 90% off

PlateUp! is one of the biggest cooking-game deals currently available on Steam, with its price reduced by 90%. The promotion lasts until October 22, extending beyond Cooking Fest itself.

The game combines restaurant management with cooperative cooking and roguelite progression. Up to four players can design restaurants, buy appliances, prepare food and serve customers while upgrading their operation between increasingly difficult shifts.

Mattami Restaurant & Cafe Tycoon is another participating management game. Developer Athomield Games has announced a 40% discount for Cooking Fest, with the promotion expected to activate once the event begins.

New restaurant games launch during the festival

Cooking Fest is also serving as a launch window for new games. Dinerz releases on October 12 and lets up to four players run a diner together, preparing food while managing customers, staff and the restaurant itself.

A free Dinerz demo is already available on Steam. It gives players an early look at the game's first-person cooking and restaurant-management systems.

We Are Cooking also launches on October 12 in Early Access. The first-person cooperative game supports teams of up to four players who divide kitchen tasks, prepare orders and deal with hazards such as fires and spills.

Cooking Fest includes free demos

Valve is also highlighting upcoming games with playable demos. Global Plates lets players build automated kitchens with machines and conveyor belts before opening a café and serving dishes including sushi, pasta and burgers.

Ramen Shop Simulator is another upcoming title participating with a demo. Players prepare broth, noodles and toppings while managing and decorating their own ramen restaurant.

Valve allows a broad range of food-focused games into the event, including restaurant, café, pub, food-truck and food-factory titles. Cooking or serving food must still be an important part of the core gameplay.

Cooking Fest runs for one week

Steam Cooking Fest runs from October 12 to October 19, with participating games divided across discounted releases, demos and upcoming titles. More deals should become visible once Valve's full event page goes live.

The festival ends as Steam Next Fest begins on October 19. Some upcoming cooking games are participating in both events, giving their demos additional exposure after Cooking Fest concludes.
