Halo Wars

Halo Wars is a real-time strategy game developed by Ensemble Studios and set more than two decades before Halo: Combat Evolved. The campaign follows the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire during the early years of humanity’s war against the Covenant. Players construct bases, gather resources and command groups of familiar Halo units including Marines, Warthogs, Scorpion tanks and Spartans. Different units are effective against specific enemy types, making army composition and positioning important during larger battles. The campaign focuses on conflicts across worlds such as Harvest and Arcadia, while multiplayer allows players to control either UNSC or Covenant forces. Halo Wars was designed specifically for consoles, with a streamlined control system built around managing armies and issuing commands with a gamepad.
