Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread is a 2D action-adventure game developed by MercurySteam and Nintendo, continuing Samus Aran’s story after Metroid Fusion. Samus travels to the planet ZDR to investigate a mysterious transmission linked to the X parasites. Exploration follows the classic Metroid structure, with new abilities gradually opening previously inaccessible routes across the planet. Samus can slide, counter enemy attacks and move more fluidly than in earlier 2D entries, while upgrades such as missiles, beams and movement abilities expand both combat and traversal. A major threat comes from the E.M.M.I., powerful research robots that patrol specific zones and can kill Samus almost instantly if they catch her. Boss battles, hidden upgrades and interconnected environments make careful exploration central to progression.
