01Overview
Gears 5 is a third-person shooter developed by The Coalition and the fifth main entry in the Gears of War series. The campaign follows Kait Diaz as she investigates her connection to the Locust and uncovers more about the origins of the threats facing Sera. Combat centers on cover-based shooting with weapons such as the Lancer, shotguns and heavy firearms. Players can also upgrade the robotic companion Jack with abilities that provide support during firefights and exploration. The campaign includes larger hub areas that can be explored between missions, offering optional objectives, collectibles and upgrades. Alongside the story, Gears 5 features competitive multiplayer, Horde mode and Escape, a cooperative mode where teams fight their way out of enemy-controlled areas under time pressure.
