Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a story-driven open-world RPG set in medieval Bohemia within the Holy Roman Empire. Players take the role of Henry, the son of a blacksmith whose village is attacked by invading forces. After losing his family and home, Henry becomes involved in the conflict surrounding King Wenceslaus IV and his half-brother Sigismund. Players explore castles, forests, villages, and towns while completing quests, investigating crimes, negotiating with characters, and fighting enemies. Many quests can be approached through combat, stealth, persuasion, bribery, or other solutions depending on Henry’s skills and reputation. Character progression is based on actions rather than a fixed class. Henry improves skills by using them, including sword fighting, archery, lockpicking, alchemy, speech, and horsemanship. Combat uses directional attacks, blocks, parries, stamina, and different weapon types, with armor affecting protection and movement. Players must also manage hunger, fatigue, equipment condition, and injuries. Clothing, cleanliness, reputation, and previous actions can influence how characters respond to Henry, while crime can lead to fines, imprisonment, or other consequences.
