01Overview
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an open-world action RPG developed by Monolith Productions and a sequel to Shadow of Mordor. Talion and Celebrimbor return to continue their war against Sauron, using a new Ring of Power to build an army capable of challenging his forces across Mordor. Combat combines melee attacks, stealth, ranged abilities and supernatural Wraith powers. The expanded Nemesis System gives Orc captains individual personalities, strengths and relationships, while also allowing players to recruit them as Followers. A major part of progression revolves around assaulting and defending Fortresses. Players assemble armies, appoint commanders and conquer regions controlled by Sauron's forces. Rivalries, betrayals and promotions within the Orc hierarchy can create different stories for each player as the campaign develops.
