01Overview
Mortal Kombat 11 is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and the next evolution of the long-running Mortal Kombat series. Its cinematic story continues the saga of the franchise's heroes and villains as a new threat, Kronika, attempts to rewrite history by manipulating time and bringing characters from different eras into conflict. The game introduces the Custom Character Variation System, giving players greater control over how fighters look and play. Characters can be customised with different skins, gear and abilities, while combat introduces mechanics such as Krushing Blows and Fatal Blows alongside the series' signature Fatalities. A roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters provides a wide range of fighting styles for local and online matches. Beyond its story campaign, Mortal Kombat 11 includes Towers of Time, the Krypt, tutorials and competitive Kombat League play. The Aftermath expansion continues the main story after its original conclusion and adds new playable fighters, while later content further expanded the roster. With detailed cinematic presentation, extensive fighter customisation and brutally stylised combat, Mortal Kombat 11 combines the series' traditional one-on-one fighting with a substantial selection of single-player and multiplayer modes.
