2XKO adds Sett and Samira in its final major content update
October 10, 2026·3 min read
2XKO is closing out active development with a surprise Sett reveal, Samira's arrival and one last major roster update before support winds down.
Riot Games has revealed one last surprise for 2XKO, with Sett joining the roster alongside the previously announced Samira on October 27. Both champions will arrive through patch 1.3.3, which Riot says will be the fighting game's final major content update.
Sett had not been part of Riot's previously announced roadmap and was revealed in a new gameplay trailer alongside Samira. Active development on 2XKO will end later in 2026, although Riot plans to keep the servers running after development stops.
Sett joins the roster as a surprise final fighter

Sett's addition was kept secret until the latest trailer. The League of Legends champion enters 2XKO as a hard-hitting brawler built around powerful punches, grabs and close-range pressure.
The footage also shows Sett entering a powered-up state that changes some of his attacks. One of his most dramatic moves involves using an opponent's assist character against them, fitting naturally into 2XKO's two-versus-two tag structure.
Sett had been regularly requested by players but was absent when Riot outlined its remaining champion releases in August. At the time, the studio said Lux and Samira would be the final additions before active development ended.
Samira brings her style system into 2XKO
Samira was already confirmed for October and remains a major part of patch 1.3.3. Her fighting style mixes sword attacks with dual pistols, allowing her to move quickly between close and longer ranges.
Her League of Legends style mechanic has also been adapted for the fighting game. Players can raise her style rank by chaining different attacks together, rewarding varied offensive sequences rather than repeatedly relying on the same moves.
Samira and Sett will be available to all players when the update launches. Riot previously unlocked the game's champions as part of its plan to leave 2XKO in a playable state after active development ends.
Patch 1.3.3 is the last major content release

Riot announced in August that it would stop actively developing 2XKO because player retention and engagement had not reached sustainable levels. The company said the game cost substantially more to operate than it generated and that reducing the team or changing the update schedule would not provide a viable path forward.
Since then, Riot has been finishing content already in development. Lux arrived in September, while Samira and Sett now complete the final major update planned for October.
Patch 1.3.3 will also expand the Ultimate Bundle with the remaining skins and cosmetics. Players who already own the bundle will receive the additional items automatically.
2XKO will remain playable after development ends
The end of active development does not mean 2XKO is shutting down. Riot says its servers will remain online, while offline play will continue to work on supported platforms.
Most official communication will end on November 6, although Riot still plans to publish necessary patch notes and cover remaining competitive events. A smaller balance and bug-fix update is tentatively planned for November 12, with another optional bug-fix patch possible in early December.
The final Competitive Series events will also continue through November. After that, community organizers will still be able to run 2XKO tournaments under Riot's existing competition guidelines.
Sett and Samira arrive on October 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, giving 2XKO one last roster expansion before Riot steps away from active development.
