Beautiful Light remains set for December 2026 Early Access launch
October 6, 2026·3 min read
Deep Worlds is keeping Beautiful Light on track for a December Early Access debut, with PvPvE raids and playable anomalies.
Deep Worlds' upcoming extraction shooter Beautiful Light is still scheduled to enter Early Access in December 2026. Both its Steam and Epic Games Store pages list the same release window, although the developer has not announced an exact launch date.
The PC release will arrive as an unfinished Early Access build rather than the full 1.0 version. Deep Worlds plans to keep expanding the game after launch using player feedback.
Six squads compete for the same artifact

Beautiful Light combines tactical first-person shooting, extraction mechanics and survival horror. Each match can feature six squads of three operators entering a hostile area to search for an artifact and escape with their equipment intact.
Other squads are only part of the threat. The map also contains supernatural creatures called anomalies, forcing players to deal with both rival teams and monsters during each raid.
Operators can prepare with different weapons, armor and gadgets before entering a mission. Dying can mean losing equipment brought into the raid, keeping the risk-and-reward structure associated with extraction shooters.
Deep Worlds is also aiming for slower tactical play rather than constant firefights. Players will need to manage equipment carefully and decide when engaging another squad is worth the risk.
Players can also control the monsters
One of Beautiful Light's more unusual features is its asymmetric multiplayer system. Players can invade other raids as an anomaly instead of entering every match as a human operator.
The objective changes when controlling one of these creatures. Anomalies hunt operators, stop them from extracting and gain experience by killing players.
Progression will allow players to improve anomaly abilities and eventually unlock more creatures. That means some of the monsters encountered during a raid may be controlled by other players rather than AI.
Early Access could last several years

Deep Worlds says Early Access is important because Beautiful Light is an ambitious project being made by a relatively small independent team. Revenue from the initial release will help support continued development while giving the studio more players to test its systems.
The developer has not committed to a fixed Early Access length. Its Steam page says finishing that phase in less than three years would be ideal, but the timeline will depend on feedback and how development progresses.
Some planned features may therefore arrive after the December launch. Deep Worlds has also stressed that the Early Access build should not be treated as the finished version.
An exact December date is still missing
Beautiful Light is currently confirmed only for Windows PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. No console versions have been announced, while the launch price and exact December release date also remain unknown.
Players can currently request access to the Beautiful Light playtest through Steam, although entry is not guaranteed. The next major milestone remains its December 2026 Early Access launch.
