Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving fans their first public chance to test the sequel after years of waiting. The demo appears when the event opens on September 17, although the game itself is still planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The game won't fully launch on September 17. Instead, players will be able to access the hands-on preview. Bandai Namco has shown trailers and early footage, but a public build will reveal far more about movement, camera control, hit reactions, and the new combat systems. Players will finally see how the sequel feels without editing hiding any rough parts.

Visitors can choose between two custom avatars built around different combat styles before joining the Great Saiya Squad for a short mission. The trial ends with a fight against Full Power Super Saiyan Broly. This battle lets players see how well the game handles fast movement, powerful attacks, and close-range combat.
A boss fight is a smart choice because Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 could become hard to read when many effects appeared on the screen at the same time. Broly's size and power should expose weak camera work, slow responses, or poor hit feedback quickly, especially when players are learning the controls without help from a prepared demo script.
Tokyo Game Show begins with two business days, so most fans will not enter the venue until public admission starts on September 19. Bandai Namco has not announced a downloadable home demo, which means the first detailed impressions will come from people playing at the booth and sharing how the build feels.

The sequel keeps the fast aerial combat of the earlier games while adding more ways to pressure an opponent. Ki Break can leave a fighter open after their energy is drained, while Break Smash creates a stronger follow-up. Battle Styles also change combo routes, giving custom characters more control over how they fight.
Soul Assist lets a familiar hero join the fight with a special move, while Soul Switch lets the avatar borrow power from characters such as Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Future Trunks, or Tien. Race-based transformations also return, keeping character growth tied to the type of fighter the player creates and develops.
The public demo needs to show that these extra systems feel natural rather than crowded. After ten years of updates and DLC, players know exactly where Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 feels stiff. Better movement, easier targeting, stronger impact, and fewer camera problems would be more important than simply adding another set of flashy attacks.
The story moves into Age 1000, where West City has developed further and the player attends West City University before joining the Great Saiya Squad. Bulma and Gamma 1 help introduce the new hero, while Brett, Lilica, ROM, and Tap bring original faces into a setting built beyond the familiar Time Patrol years.
Moving forward in the timeline gives Dimps space to tell a new story without sending players through the same battles against Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu again. The earlier games relied heavily on repairing damaged history, while this setting can create its own problems, friendships, and places without repeating old scenes.
Bandai Namco has not confirmed the final roster, full list of playable races, price, or exact launch date. The first public build has a simpler job: prove that creating a fighter and stepping into battle feels sharper, faster, and more responsive than it did a decade ago.
