Loftia Enters Early Access November 3 on Steam

September 21, 2026·3 min read

Loftia will enter Early Access on November 3, opening its persistent solarpunk world to players on PC and Mac through Steam. Qloud Games has set the Early Access launch for 1:00 p.m. EST.

Developed by Qloud Games, the cozy life-sim MMO combines farming, crafting, exploration, home building, and social activities in a world designed around sustainability and community. Qloud Games says Steam Deck support will also be available when Early Access launches.

Players can build communities across floating islands

Rather than limiting progression to a private farm or home, Loftia is built around players sharing a persistent online world and working together on larger community goals.

Players can explore, gather resources, craft tools, complete quests, build and decorate homes, befriend NPCs, and adopt animals including capybaras and turtles. Players can also work together on community projects and shared builds. Qloud Games says contributing to those projects can unlock new resources, uncover hidden stories, and open additional islands to explore.

Loftia uses separate servers, but players will not be permanently locked to one. Qloud Games says players can switch servers to join friends, although an internet connection is always required because the MMO does not support offline play.

Farming and crafting use Loftia's solarpunk setting

The solarpunk theme also shapes several of Loftia's main gameplay systems rather than serving only as the setting.

Farming includes hydroponics, aquaponics, and trellis growing, giving players alternatives to traditional crop fields. Renewable energy collected from the sun, wind, and rain can also be used when crafting tools and developing the surrounding world.

Qloud Games describes solarpunk as a vision of a future where humanity and the environment coexist sustainably. That idea runs through the game's farming, energy production, construction, and cooperative systems as players work on both their own homes and the wider community.

Exploration extends beyond settlement building, with quests, different environments, resource gathering, and other activities giving players reasons to move through the shared world instead of remaining on their home island.

Early Access will be buy-to-play with no subscription

Loftia will use a buy-to-play model rather than requiring a monthly subscription. Qloud Games has set the US Early Access price at $29.99, with a limited 17% launch discount reducing it to $24.89. Regional pricing will also be available.

Qloud Games also plans optional microtransactions and a season pass, but says both will be limited to cosmetics. The studio says a single purchase will provide access to Loftia's gameplay content. Qloud Games currently has no plans for paid expansions, with future gameplay updates intended to remain available to players who own the game.

A Nintendo Switch version is planned after the Steam launch, although Qloud Games has not announced when it will arrive. Cross-platform play is also being researched and tested but has not yet been confirmed.
