Marvel Cosmic Invasion Reveals Castle Doom DLC Gameplay With New Run-Based Mode

October 27, 2026·3 min read

Marvel Cosmic Invasion's Castle Doom DLC introduces branching paths, 12 perks and permanent upgrades, alongside two new playable characters arriving November 10.

Dotemu and Tribute Games have revealed a new run-based mode for Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom, the upcoming premium DLC launching on November 10, 2026. A gameplay trailer released on October 26 shows players fighting through Doctor Doom's fortress, collecting upgrades, and racing to stop his latest weapon from destroying the universe.

The expansion introduces branching routes, powerful perks, and permanent unlocks that change future attempts. It also adds Doctor Doom and the Invisible Woman as playable characters, expanding the roster of the arcade-style beat 'em up.

The new mode takes players into Castle Doomstadt, where Victor von Doom is preparing to activate the Cosmic Inductor. The weapon was originally designed to defeat Annihilus, but its flawed design now threatens the entire universe.

Players must fight through the castle's defenses while charging a Stabilizer created by Reed Richards. Surviving encounters increases its power, giving players a way to counter Doom's plans.

The Siege Gauge increases when enemies overcome the heroes, making Doom's forces stronger as it fills. Players must reach Doctor Doom before the gauge fills completely, or their run ends immediately.

The castle also features Doom Bots, returning bosses from the main campaign, and traps designed to catch players off guard.

Branching routes and 12 perks change how each run plays out

Players can choose different paths through Castle Doom, with each route offering its own challenges and opportunities to collect upgrades.

The DLC introduces 12 perks covering defensive, offensive, and tactical abilities. Players can earn these upgrades by collecting Battery Cells and completing challenges, allowing them to strengthen their characters as they progress.

Some challenges offer valuable rewards, but failure can leave characters weakened by negative effects. Players must decide which encounters are worth attempting while managing the increasing difficulty inside the fortress.

Successful runs also provide permanent progression through Reed Richards' Lab. Players can unlock new equipment, events, and modifiers that change future attempts, including options that increase the difficulty and potential rewards.

Doctor Doom and Invisible Woman join the playable roster

Alongside the new mode, the DLC introduces two playable characters previously revealed during New York Comic Con on October 8.

Doctor Doom combines advanced technological armor with mystical abilities, while Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman, uses light-bending powers and force fields in combat. Both characters bring additional fighting styles to the existing roster.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom launches on PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The expansion requires the base game, and Dotemu has not yet announced its price.
