NBA 2K25 Will Be Delisted on October 30 Ahead of Server Shutdown
NBA 2K25 will be delisted on October 30 before its servers close at the end of 2026, removing MyCAREER, MyTEAM, multiplayer, and other online features.
NBA 2K25 will no longer be available to purchase digitally as of October 30, 2026, with 2K also preparing to shut down the game's online services at the end of the year. Existing owners will still be able to redownload the game and access supported offline modes after it is delisted.
The larger change arrives after December 31. From January 1, 2027, multiplayer and every mode that depends on 2K's servers will stop working, including MyCAREER and MyTEAM.
Existing owners will keep access after the delisting

The October cutoff affects new purchases rather than ownership. 2K says anyone who already owns NBA 2K25 will still be able to redownload it after October 30 and continue playing the modes that work offline.
NBA 2K25 originally launched worldwide on September 6, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam.
That means the game will have been available for just over two years before new digital purchases end.
MyCAREER and MyTEAM disappear when the servers close

The December shutdown has a much bigger effect on the game itself. MyCAREER and MyTEAM will become unavailable from January 1, 2027, and players will no longer be able to earn Virtual Currency. Multiplayer, Online Leagues, community sharing, and other features requiring a connection to 2K's servers will also stop working.
The shutdown therefore affects more than competitive online matches. MyCAREER and MyTEAM are major parts of the modern NBA 2K experience, but neither will remain accessible once server support ends.
Play Now and several franchise modes will remain playable
NBA 2K25 will not become completely unplayable after the shutdown. 2K confirms that Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA will remain available, although any connected features inside those modes will no longer function.
The two dates are therefore important for different reasons. NBA 2K25 will be delisted from digital storefronts as of October 30, while January 1 is when its online-dependent modes and features become inaccessible.
For anyone who already owns the game, offline content will remain available after both deadlines.
