PlayStation Announces Two State of Play Showcases for September 3

PlayStation will hold two State of Play broadcasts back-to-back on September 3, with announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party developers followed by a second showcase dedicated to games from Japan and Asia.

The first presentation will also end with an extended look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Revelation, making it the only game Sony has confirmed for that broadcast so far.

The broadcasts will begin at 9 AM ET on September 3 and will stream live on YouTube and Twitch.

Sony says the first State of Play will include updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and its third-party partners.

No other games have been named ahead of the broadcast, leaving most of the lineup under wraps. Sony has also not said how long the presentation will run.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will receive an extended segment at the end of the presentation, with Sony promising a deeper look at the game's world.

Square Enix and PlayStation have not detailed what will be shown, so new gameplay, characters, locations, or release information have not been confirmed for the segment.

State of Play Japan will begin immediately after the first broadcast and will once again be hosted by Yuki Kaji.

The second showcase will focus on upcoming games from developers across Japan and Asia, with Sony confirming new gameplay, announcements, and deeper looks at upcoming releases. No individual games have been revealed for the Japan-focused presentation yet.

The main State of Play will air in English with Japanese subtitles, while State of Play Japan will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles available.
