Pokémon GO Tour 2027 sets February dates and hints at Ultra Necrozma

Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will celebrate Alola with February events in Kaohsiung, Los Angeles and worldwide, while Ultra Necrozma remains unconfirmed.

Pokémon GO Tour 2027 will celebrate the Alola region in February, with in-person events planned for Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, California. Both events will run from February 19 to 21, followed by a worldwide event on February 27 and 28.

The announcement also includes wording that appears to tease Ultra Necrozma. The Pokémon GO team said it was looking forward to another "ultra fun year," but Ultra Necrozma has not been officially confirmed for the event.

The 2027 Tour will focus on the Alola region from Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. That gives the event plenty of potential material involving Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts.

Kaohsiung and Los Angeles will host their events at the same time from February 19 through February 21. Players who cannot attend either location will be able to take part in the global Tour the following weekend.

Specific venues, gameplay bonuses, raid rotations and featured Pokémon have not yet been announced. Tickets and more information are expected during the next Pokémon GO Season.

Ultra Necrozma remains only a tease

The use of the word "ultra" has drawn attention because the 2027 Tour is centered on Alola. It could be a reference to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but it also fits Ultra Necrozma, a form that has not yet appeared in Pokémon GO.

Necrozma is already available in the game alongside its Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings fusions with Solgaleo and Lunala. Ultra Necrozma would add another form if Scopely decides to adapt its Ultra Burst mechanic.

For now, there is no confirmation that Ultra Necrozma will debut during the Tour. Its appearance, raid format and mechanics remain unannounced.

More Alola additions could arrive with the event

Several Alola Pokémon still have room to debut in Pokémon GO, including Wishiwashi, Pyukumuku, Type: Null, Silvally, Minior and Magearna. None have been confirmed for the February event.

The Tour could also bring new Shiny releases or return existing Alola Legendary Pokémon and Ultra Beasts to raids. Previous regional Tours have used similar event structures, but Scopely has not revealed the 2027 encounter lineup.

The next confirmed update will come with ticket details during the next Season. Until then, the February dates and Alola theme are official, while Ultra Necrozma remains a tease rather than a confirmed feature.
