Rainbow Six Mobile launches Operation Silent Descent with Wamai

August 11, 2026·2 min read
Rainbow Six Mobile has launched Operation Silent Descent, bringing Wamai to the Defender roster alongside new limited-time modes, seasonal events, and another Battle Pass. The season begins on August 11 for the free-to-play tactical shooter on iOS and Android.

Ubisoft is also changing Operator balance, destruction, Ranked matchmaking, stun grenades, and 120 FPS support. Several of these updates are aimed at improving competitive matches and performance.

Wamai joins the Defender roster

Wamai arrives with his Mag-NET gadget, which catches nearby projectiles and pulls them toward itself before they detonate. It gives Defenders another way to deal with grenades and other throwable gadgets.

Players can unlock Wamai through the new Battle Pass. It also includes weapon skins, Operator cosmetics, and other seasonal rewards.

Limited-time modes arrive throughout the season

The first week features Wamai Showcase, a 3v3 version of Bomb played on Border and House. Cipher Protocol follows during weeks two and three, though Ubisoft has not revealed all of its rules.

Week four introduces All Hands on Deck using standard Bomb rules. Matches will take place across Bank, Border, Clubhouse, Oregon, Summit, and Villa.

Ranked and destruction are changing

Silent Descent introduces new Ranked party restrictions. Gold, Platinum, and Diamond players cannot queue as four-player groups, while Master players are limited to parties of two.

Soft walls will also require more bullets to break, while barricades return to taking three melee hits. Deimos gets a faster reload for his .44 Vendetta, and stun grenades have been adjusted to reduce accidental self-blinds.

More devices can use 120 FPS

Ubisoft has removed the chipset requirement that previously limited 120 FPS support. Players can now use the option when their device has a compatible 120 Hz display.

Hit registration and latency issues are still being investigated. Ubisoft has identified a positioning problem that can affect how shots register and is working on a fix.

Operation Silent Descent also brings back Mining Madness during weeks three and four, offering extra Obsidian through Ranked challenges. New seasonal cosmetics will also be available while the season is active.
