Netmarble has shown Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi in playable form for the first time at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Attendees at the publisher’s booth were able to try an early build of the mobile RPG and see how its two-character tag battle system works.

The demo was accompanied by a new animated promotional video produced with C2C, the studio behind the Shangri-La Frontier anime. The footage features familiar characters, new battle sequences, and Unique Monster Wethermon the Tombguard.

Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi is built around a two-character tag system designed for one-handed mobile controls. Players can switch between characters while building combinations through decks and chained attacks.

Netmarble describes the game as a collectible RPG that mixes combat with exploration of the world from the original series. Players will meet familiar characters and NPCs while taking on monsters drawn from the manga and anime.

The Tokyo Game Show demo gave visitors the first opportunity to try those systems directly. Netmarble also held stage events featuring the development team and members of the anime voice cast, with the game’s combat and strategy among the main topics discussed.

Wethermon appears in the new promotional video

The new animated video puts Wethermon the Tombguard at the center of one of its major battles. It also ends with silhouettes representing the Seven Colossi, placing the powerful monsters among the game’s larger objectives.

C2C worked with Netmarble on the 2D animation, helping the video retain the visual style of the anime while introducing sequences created specifically for the game. The footage also offers another look at how the tag combat translates the source material into a mobile RPG.

The story follows Rakuro Hizutome, better known in-game as Sunraku, as he enters the highly regarded virtual reality game Shangri-La Frontier. The upcoming title is the first game adaptation based directly on the series.

Netmarble says exploration and encounters with Unique Monsters will sit alongside the combat system. The company has also shown Sunraku, Emul, Akitsu Akane, and other recognizable characters as part of its Tokyo Game Show presentation.
