Star Wars: Galactic Racer Will Increase Multiplayer Party Size to Six in Upcoming Update

October 12, 2026·3 min read

Fuse Games is working on a Star Wars: Galactic Racer update that will increase the multiplayer party limit from three to six players following community feedback. The change will let larger groups of friends enter online matchmaking together without increasing the existing 12-racer limit. An exact patch release date has not been announced.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer developer Fuse Games is working on an update that will double the game's multiplayer party limit from three to six players, allowing larger groups of friends to race together online.

The studio confirmed the change on October 5 after players raised concerns about the three-person restriction. Fuse Games aims to release the update within the first few weeks following the game's October 6 launch, although an exact date has not been announced.

Fuse Games announced the change through the game's official X account while responding to requests for larger multiplayer parties. The developer acknowledged the feedback and confirmed that it was already working on increasing the maximum party size.

The studio said it was aiming to release the change "within the first few weeks of launch," with further details to follow. Currently, players can form parties with up to two friends. Groups of four or more cannot enter online matchmaking together as a single party.

Increasing the limit to six will address that restriction, making it easier for larger groups to join the same multiplayer sessions. However, Fuse Games has not confirmed a specific patch date or announced any additional features coming alongside the change.

The planned adjustment concerns party size rather than the number of competitors supported in an online race. Star Wars: Galactic Racer already supports multiplayer races with up to 12 participants. The current restriction determines how many friends can group together before entering matchmaking.

With the update, six friends will be able to form a single party instead of coordinating separate groups. The game also supports cross-platform multiplayer, allowing players on different supported systems to compete online.

However, larger parties should not be confused with private multiplayer lobbies. Players have also requested the ability to organize custom races exclusively with friends, but Fuse Games has not confirmed that feature.

Multiplayer update follows Galactic Racer's October 6 launch

Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched on October 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Developed by Fuse Games and published by Secret Mode, the racing game takes players into the Galactic League, an underground competition set in the Star Wars universe.

Alongside its single-player campaign, the game features competitive online racing. Players can pilot different types of repulsorcraft, including landspeeders, speeder bikes, and podracers.

Its multiplayer competitions emphasize vehicle customization and tactical decisions. Players can develop their builds through upgrades and abilities while competing against other racers.

The upcoming party-size increase is an early response to multiplayer feedback. Fuse Games has not yet published the patch's full details or confirmed whether other requested multiplayer improvements will accompany it.
