1992 Sega Mega Drive RPG Vixen 357 Is Coming to Steam
The 1992 Sega Mega Drive strategy RPG Vixen 357 is coming to Steam in 2026 with rewind, save states, turbo, cheats, modern display options and English support.
A Sega Mega Drive strategy RPG from 1992 is getting a new PC release more than three decades later. Vixen 357 is coming to Steam in 2026, with Extreme listed as developer and Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden handling publishing. An exact release date has not been announced.
The original Vixen 357 was released for the Mega Drive in Japan, where it combined turn-based tactical battles with a science-fiction story built around pilots and humanoid machines known as VECTORs. The Steam version will support English, Spanish, and Japanese text, while also adding several features designed to make the 1992 game easier to play on modern hardware.
The Steam version adds rewind, save states, and other modern features

Rather than bringing the original game to PC without changes, the new edition includes a collection of convenience and presentation options. Players can use save states to save anywhere, rewind earlier moments, speed up play with a turbo function, and choose from several screen filters.
An optional cheats feature can also provide advantages such as invulnerability, while a gallery collects artwork from the original release, including illustrations, posters, and box designs. The Steam release will support Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing.
Vixen 357 puts pilots and VECTORs through 16 tactical stages

Vixen 357 has 16 stages built around turn-based tactical combat. Its setup follows the Slash Unit, whose base is attacked by an unidentified force while its members are training to pilot the high-mobility VECTOR machines.
One of the game's main tactical features is the ability to assign different VECTORs to different characters rather than permanently tying each pilot to one machine. The game also uses permadeath, so losing a character during a mission can permanently remove them from the player's forces.
Those systems remain part of the Steam release despite additions such as rewind and save states. Players who want the original consequences can still approach battles around preserving their pilots, while the new functions provide additional ways to recover from mistakes.
Vixen 357 already returned on PC and in English
The Steam version is not Vixen 357's first modern PC rerelease. D4 Enterprise brought the Mega Drive version to its Japanese Project EGG service in 2017.
It is also not the game's first official English release. Shinyuden brought Vixen 357 west earlier in 2026 with an English physical edition made for original Mega Drive and Genesis hardware. That version is currently listed as in stock through the publisher.
Steam will make the game more widely available on Windows with official English, Spanish, and Japanese support. The store page currently lists only a 2026 launch window, with no specific day announced.
