Build a wilder world in Planet Zoo 2. Create distinctive zoos around the globe filled with animals, including fully aquatic and flying species, before taking your experience beyond the zoo to release them into expansive Wildlife Reserves. Players design habitats, aquariums, and customizable aviaries while managing animal welfare, staff, finances, guests, and the wider operation of each zoo. Species have their own needs and behaviors, including grazing, herding, swimming, and free flight, requiring habitats to be designed around how the animals actually live. Wildlife Reserves expand conservation beyond traditional zoo boundaries. Players complete conservation projects before releasing suitable animals into large natural environments that can be designed, restored, and maintained with minimal staff presence. Building tools include piece-by-piece construction alongside blueprints, scalable scenery, flexible coloring, terrain and foliage brushes, and improved pathing. Multiple global biomes and scenery themes provide different settings for each zoo, while research conducted through conservation work can also benefit the facilities and animals managed back at the zoo.
