The iconic roguelike deckbuilder returns in Slay the Spire 2. Craft a unique deck, encounter bizarre creatures, and discover relics of immense power while climbing a newly evolved Spire. Players choose from new and returning characters, each with their own cards, playstyles, and story. During each run, players follow branching paths through changing environments, fight enemies in turn-based card battles, encounter unpredictable events, and collect cards, relics, and potions that shape how their deck develops. Defeat ends the current climb, encouraging new combinations and strategies on the next attempt. Slay the Spire 2 expands the original structure with new enemies, allies, environments, events, relics, and lore. Players can climb alone or join up to three other players in online co-op, where multiplayer-specific cards and team synergies add cooperative options to combat and deck building. Different characters support distinct approaches, while the randomized structure means available cards, encounters, rewards, and routes change between runs. The sequel is rebuilt in a new engine with updated visuals, quality-of-life improvements, and expanded support for community-made mods.
