01Overview

The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and set five years after the events of The Last of Us. The story follows Ellie and Abby through a violent journey across a post-apocalyptic United States, with the game shifting between their perspectives as their lives become increasingly connected by loss, revenge and the consequences of their actions. Players explore ruined cities, forests, abandoned buildings and other hostile environments while fighting both human survivors and creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. Combat combines firearms, improvised weapons, crafting and stealth, allowing players to avoid encounters or approach enemies from different directions. Ellie’s agility also expands traversal with jumping, climbing, crawling and rope-based movement that can be used during exploration and combat. Enemies communicate and coordinate during encounters, while infected creatures range from familiar Runners and Clickers to more dangerous mutations. Weapons and abilities can be upgraded throughout the campaign, giving players greater control over combat and survival. The Last of Us Part II combines tense exploration and brutal encounters with a character-driven story focused on grief, loyalty and revenge.
