01Overview
The Outer Worlds 2 is the sequel to the first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. Players take the role of an Earth Directorate agent sent to investigate destructive rifts threatening humanity. The mission leads to Arcadia, a colony divided between the Protectorate, Auntie’s Choice, and the Order of the Ascendant. Players explore separate regions, fight with firearms, melee weapons, and unusual science gear, and use dialogue, stealth, skills, and character traits to resolve quests. Choices can change faction relationships, companion outcomes, settlements, and how events are reported across the colony. Character creation includes backgrounds, traits, skills, perks, and flaws that can develop according to how the player behaves. Six recruitable companions have their own goals and questlines, and decisions can affect whether they remain with the crew or survive. Combat adds improved movement with dashing, jumping, and traversal options, while both first-person and third-person perspectives are available. Exploration rewards alternate routes, hidden information, equipment, and different solutions to objectives, keeping the game focused on player choice and role-playing.
