Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a third-person action game where players return as Lieutenant Titus, now serving with the Ultramarines against invading Tyranid swarms and the forces of Chaos. The campaign combines ranged weapons with aggressive melee combat using chainswords, power weapons, and other Space Marine equipment. Enemies often attack in large groups, requiring players to switch between shooting, parrying, dodging, executions, and close-range attacks. The full campaign can be played solo or cooperatively with up to two other players. Outside the story, Operations provides separate three-player cooperative missions that take place alongside events from the campaign. Players choose from Tactical, Assault, Vanguard, Bulwark, Sniper, and Heavy classes, each with its own equipment and battlefield role. Completing missions unlocks class perks, weapon upgrades, and cosmetic armor options. Eternal War provides 6v6 PvP battles where Imperium and Chaos Space Marines compete across objective-based and elimination modes. Operations and Eternal War use customizable multiplayer characters and separate progression from Lieutenant Titus in the campaign.
