01Overview
Batman: Arkham City is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum. The story takes place inside Arkham City, a heavily fortified section of Gotham transformed into a prison for criminals and supervillains. Players explore the district using Batman’s grapnel gun and cape, moving between rooftops, streets and interior locations. Combat builds on the Freeflow system with new counters, gadgets and enemy types, while Predator encounters continue to emphasize stealth and careful positioning. The story brings together villains including the Joker, Hugo Strange, Two-Face and the Penguin, with Catwoman also appearing as a playable character in parts of the campaign. Side missions and optional encounters give players additional reasons to explore Arkham City beyond the main storyline.
