Two Steam Games Could Become Free to Keep Before October 2026 Ends
Hexologic and Asleep: Act 1 have appeared in SteamDB promotional records, but neither free-to-keep offer is confirmed.
Two PC games have appeared in Steam's promotional records for October 2026, suggesting that Hexologic and Asleep: Act 1 could soon be available to claim for free. Both titles have received limited-time promotional package listings, although neither giveaway is currently active.
The packages were updated on October 26 and are listed among potentially upcoming free promotions. However, Steam has not announced when either offer will begin or how long players would have to claim the games.
Hexologic could become free eight years after its Steam debut

Developed and published by MythicOwl, Hexologic is a Sudoku-inspired puzzle game released on Steam on May 29, 2018. Instead of traditional number grids, players solve puzzles by placing dots inside colorful hexagonal tiles.
Each puzzle requires players to match the totals shown around the grid by arranging dots in three directions. The game features more than 90 levels across six worlds, with new mechanics gradually increasing the difficulty.
Hexologic has received an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, with 96% positive feedback from approximately 690 user reviews.
A promotional package titled "Hexologic Limited Free Promotional Package - Oct 2026" appeared in Steam's database on October 26. Its presence suggests that a limited-time giveaway may be planned, but the game's regular store page still requires a purchase.
Asleep: Act 1 brings psychological horror set in 1990s Brazil

The second potential giveaway is Asleep: Act 1, a psychological horror adventure developed by Black Hole Games and published by CriticalLeap. Released on May 9, 2024, the game takes place in northeastern Brazil during the 1990s.
Players control Ana Lúcia, a young woman caught between disturbing nightmares and a confusing reality. She must explore detailed pixel-art environments, investigate clues, solve puzzles, and avoid dangerous creatures.
Light is central to the survival mechanics. Different enemies react to illumination in different ways, so players must decide when to use their flashlight and when to remain hidden.
Staying in darkness for too long also affects Ana Lúcia's sanity, making her surroundings increasingly dangerous. The game combines these mechanics with stealth, exploration, and traditional survival horror elements.
Asleep: Act 1 currently holds a Very Positive rating on Steam, with 92% positive feedback from approximately 316 reviews. Its October 2026 promotional package was also updated on October 26, but no official giveaway period has been confirmed.
Steam has not announced claim dates for either game
Both titles appear on SteamDB's list of potentially upcoming free promotions. The promotional packages exist, but SteamDB has not verified their contents and identifies the associated games through shared database updates. Neither listing guarantees that a giveaway will take place.
As of October 29, both Steam store pages still display purchase options. Neither has an active free-to-keep offer or a confirmed claim deadline.
Steam's free-to-keep promotions differ from free weekends. Players who redeem a game during an active free-to-keep promotion receive a permanent license, allowing them to download and play it after the offer ends.
If the two promotions become available, players will be able to claim them directly through their respective Steam store pages during the announced giveaway periods.
