01Overview
Diablo II is an action RPG developed by Blizzard North and set in a dark fantasy world overrun by demons. Players choose from several character classes and pursue Diablo across four acts, travelling through locations ranging from ruined monasteries and deserts to jungles and the depths of Hell. Combat revolves around fast hack-and-slash action, with enemies dropping weapons, armor and other equipment that can dramatically change a character build. Each class has its own skill trees, encouraging different playstyles and long-term specialization. The campaign can be played solo or online through Battle.net, with cooperative play and player-versus-player combat both available. Randomized loot, replayable difficulty levels and extensive character progression helped make Diablo II one of the most influential action RPGs of its era.
