Batman co-op detective game launches on July 31

Amazon Games has announced Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles, a cooperative detective game for up to four players. The game launches exclusively through Amazon Luna on July 31, 2026, alongside the second season of Batman: Caped Crusader on Prime Video.
Prime members will be able to play at no additional cost through Luna’s GameNight collection. The game is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and is designed as a companion to the animated series.
Players Join A GCPD Task Force
Players do not take on the role of Batman. Instead, they become detectives working as part of a special Gotham City Police Department task force connected to Batman’s inner circle.
The group works alongside Detective Renee Montoya to solve crimes across Gotham. Players will question suspects, investigate locations and study clues before deciding who or what is behind each case.
Eleven Missions Test Detective Skills
The game includes 11 episodic missions built around different criminal investigations. Each episode features its own detective minigame, giving players new ways to examine evidence and reach conclusions.
The cases will involve several members of Batman’s Rogues Gallery. Confirmed villains include Babyface, Scarecrow, Dollmaker and The Joker, with each case built around a different Gotham threat.
Smartphones Work As Controllers
Chronicles is designed as an easy-to-start party game rather than a traditional action release. One to four players can join, and each person can use a smartphone as a controller.
The game runs through Amazon Luna, so players do not need to download a large installation or own extra controllers. This setup is aimed at groups playing together on a television or another screen that supports Luna.
Animated Series Cast Returns
Hamish Linklater will return as Batman, while Michelle C. Bonilla will reprise her role as Detective Montoya. Both actors voice the same characters in the Batman: Caped Crusader animated series.
More voice actors are expected to be announced before launch. Using the show’s cast helps connect the investigations in Chronicles with the characters and noir-inspired version of Gotham seen in the series.
Luna Release Covers Several Countries
Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles will launch through Luna in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and several European countries. Supported markets also include Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg.
The game and Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 both arrive on July 31. Players will be able to watch the new episodes on Prime Video and enter their own Gotham investigations through Luna on the same day.
