Caedrel Joins Max Verstappen’s 100-Driver Karting Challenge

Caedrel will compete against Max Verstappen in a 100-driver karting challenge at Silverstone on September 16.

The League of Legends streamer is part of the field for Max vs 100, an event that puts Verstappen at the back of the grid and challenges him to overtake every driver ahead of him. Caedrel joins a lineup spanning gaming, sports, online creators, and invited fans.

Caedrel joins a field that mixes streamers with athletes and creators

Caedrel is one of several gaming personalities confirmed for the race alongside TheGrefg and TheDonato.

The wider field also includes athletes from outside motorsport, including ultrarunner Arda Saatçi, basketball shooting specialist Chris "Lethal Shooter" Matthews, and freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones.

All 101 karts will race on the track at the same time, putting Caedrel in a very different competitive setting from the League of Legends broadcasts and co-streams he is known for.

Verstappen has to fight through the entire field

The challenge gives the other 100 drivers one major advantage: Verstappen starts behind all of them.

A purpose-built karting circuit at Silverstone has been created for the event, allowing 101 karts to compete simultaneously. The format takes Verstappen back to the karting discipline where his racing career began, but with the added challenge of having an entire field between him and the front.

Verstappen said he expects his karting instincts to return quickly after spending years competing in the discipline before moving into single-seater racing.

Caedrel and the other drivers can talk to Verstappen during the race

Max vs 100 will also give the competitors a way to interact directly with Verstappen while the challenge is underway.

Verstappen will be able to communicate with drivers during the race, meaning Caedrel and the rest of the field could speak with him while trying to stay ahead. The broadcast will also use live race data, game-inspired graphics, and drone footage to follow his progress through the pack.

The September 16 event is closed to spectators at Silverstone and will instead be broadcast live through ESPN on Disney+, with availability varying by market.
