Bungie is disabling part of Destiny 2’s Cyberserpent Null armour set after it allowed players to generate almost unlimited Special Ammo in competitive matches. The change affects the set’s four-piece bonus in all Crucible Ops playlists, including the currently active Iron Banner.
Players will still be able to equip the armour and use its appearance. The bonus will also continue working in PvE activities, so the entire set is not being removed from the game.
The disabled perk is Bountiful Munitions, which activates when players wear four pieces of Cyberserpent Null armour. While Adrenal Rush is active, kills help players earn their next Special Ammo drop.
Defeating Guardians, Taken enemies and powerful combatants gives extra progress. The perk created a problem in Crucible because players could repeatedly trigger its effect and gain far more Special Ammo than intended.
Special Ammo powers weapons such as shotguns, sniper rifles and fusion rifles. Allowing players to generate it too easily can quickly give one team an advantage during a match.
The change applies across Destiny 2’s Crucible Ops playlists. Iron Banner is included, meaning players cannot use Bountiful Munitions to create extra Special Ammo during the limited-time event.
Bungie has not provided a date for the perk to return to PvP. The studio described the change as a disable rather than a balance adjustment, leaving the four-piece effect unavailable in competitive modes for the foreseeable future.

Players who equip two Cyberserpent Null pieces can still use Adrenal Rush. The perk improves weapon reload speed and handling after sprinting for a short time, while final blows extend its duration.
Only the four-piece Bountiful Munitions bonus is being switched off in PvP. The armour’s stats, visual design and basic two-piece benefit remain available.
Cyberserpent Null was introduced as part of Destiny 2’s Monument of Triumph update in June 2026. It can be earned through Gambit Ops, which received a new reward pool, tiered gear and armour set bonuses with the update.
The four-piece bonus will continue to generate Special Ammo in PvE, including Gambit and other activities against computer-controlled enemies. Players who collected the full set can therefore keep using its main ammo-focused build outside the Crucible.
