Destiny 2 glitch makes Tier 5 armor easier to farm

August 4, 2026·2 min read
A new Destiny 2 glitch gives players a much faster way to farm Tier 5 Thunderhead and First Ascent armor. The method uses Master Lost Sector rewards and the Postmaster to change which destination armor drops.

Thunderhead normally comes from Neomuna, while First Ascent is tied to the Pale Heart. Both sets can take time to collect because players must rely on random rewards from destination activities.

Players must first fill every space in their engram inventory. They can then complete Master Lost Sectors and send the Legendary engrams directly to the Postmaster.

The destination where the engrams are collected affects the reward. Opening them from the Neomuna Postmaster can produce Tier 5 Thunderhead armor, while collecting them in the Pale Heart can reward Tier 5 First Ascent pieces. Players can farm any quick Master Lost Sector and then visit the destination tied to the armor set they want.

Ghost Mods Can Improve The Drops

An armor-focusing Ghost mod can be equipped before collecting the engrams. This improves the chance of receiving armor with the stat type needed for a particular build.

The method still depends on luck. Players cannot choose the exact armor slot, and Ghost mods do not guarantee a perfect stat spread.

Postmaster space must also be managed carefully. Items pushed out of a full Postmaster are permanently lost, so unwanted gear should be removed between runs.

Tier 5 Armor Offers Stronger Stats

Tier 5 is the highest level in Destiny 2’s current armor system. These pieces can drop with a strong 30/25/20 stat spread based on their archetype, along with a tuned stat that can be improved further.

Tier 5 armor also supports 11 points of mod energy. Strong rolls can become valuable parts of endgame builds, especially when combined with useful set bonuses.

Master Lost Sectors can be completed alone or with a fireteam. Solo runs are still required for the usual Exotic engram reward, but groups can use this method to farm Legendary Tier 5 armor.

Bungie Has Not Addressed The Glitch

Bungie has not said whether the Postmaster behaviour is intentional or announced plans to remove it. The method does not copy gear, but it can change which destination armor set drops from an engram.
