Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero players finally know what its biggest expansion will cost, and the price is likely to split the community. Super Limit-Breaking NEO launches on July 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at $34.99, putting one DLC at the same price as the game's original Season Pass.
Bandai Namco is charging this price because it offers much more than a small character pack. The expansion includes 33 playable fighters, four stages, more than 20 customization items, extra story battles, and a solo mode built around training one character over time. The package is large, but anyone who already paid for a premium edition may still feel asked to spend again.

The original Season Pass also cost $34.99 and covered four content drops, which makes the new price difficult to ignore. Owners of the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions received that earlier pass, but Super Limit-Breaking NEO sits outside those packages. Players who thought they had bought the main post-launch plan must now treat this as another major purchase.
That comparison does not tell the whole story because the DLC is much bigger than a normal roster pack. Adding 33 fighters at once would already be a large release for most fighting games, and Bandai Namco has added stages, battles, costumes, techniques, and a progression system around them. Even so, the price comes close to a discounted full game.
For returning players, the choice will depend on how much time they still spend with Sparking! Zero. Someone who plays online every week may see enough value in the larger roster and training mode, while a player returning only for a few favourite characters could find the cost too steep. This feels aimed at dedicated fans rather than casual buyers.

The new roster reaches across Dragon Ball, including Grandpa Gohan, Mercenary Tao, Demon King Piccolo, Super 17, Champa, Super Saiyan Bardock, Vegeta from GT, and Trunks from GT. Several have been requested since launch, while others are making their first appearance in the wider Budokai Tenkaichi style.
Four battlefields add Kami's Palace, Kame House, Bitter Tundra, and Stratosphere locations tied to Earth and Planet Vegeta. More than 20 customization options bring extra costumes and techniques, while four Episode Battles and new Extra Battles give solo players more reasons to use the expanded roster outside quick matches.
Limit Breaker Journey may be the most important addition because it gives the DLC a purpose beyond collecting characters. Players choose one fighter, move across a map, finish battles and events, earn experience, unlock Battle Arts, and spend points across six stats. That trained version can then enter offline battles and select Player Matches.
Players who skip the paid expansion still receive new combat tools through the free update. Sparking! Boost lets fighters spend extra Skill Stocks for a stronger burst during Sparking! mode, while Linked Blast brings a reserve character into battle with an immediate attack. Both systems can change team fights without requiring the DLC.
The patch also adds three stage variations, tougher Extra Battles, more Custom Battle tools, CPU improvements, balance changes, and stability fixes. That gives every owner something useful on July 30, especially anyone who wants to test the updated combat before deciding whether the larger package deserves another $34.99.
Nintendo players do not need to decide yet because the Switch and Switch 2 versions will arrive later. Everyone else can judge the expansion by how much they value the missing fighters and Limit Breaker Journey. The free update covers the wider gameplay changes, leaving the paid release to prove its roster and solo content are worth season-pass money.
