GTA Online’s Next Big Heist, The First Since 2020, Is Coming Soon And It Looks Great

July 10, 2026·4 min read
Rockstar is finally giving GTA Online players another proper heist to plan. The Kortz Center Heist arrives on July 14, and it sends players into one of Los Santos’ richest locations to steal valuable artwork.

It is the first major new heist for GTA Online since The Cayo Perico Heist in 2020. That makes this more than another weekly update or small job. Players have been waiting years for something with real setup, risk, and a big score at the end.

The new heist is being released at a time that many players did not expect. GTA 6 is now only a few months away, so The Kortz Center Heist could become one of GTA Online’s last major moments before Rockstar moves into the next era.

The Kortz Center is the new target

The heist is built around the Kortz Center in Pacific Bluffs, a location players have seen for years but rarely had a major reason to care about. This time, the building becomes the center of a high-end art robbery.

Players will be stealing prized artworks instead of hitting another casino, drug operation, or military target. That gives the update a different feel right away, because art theft fits the expensive and strange side of Los Santos.

The setup also sounds more stylish than the usual smash-and-grab job. Rockstar is leaning into scouting, counterfeiting, and planning, which are exactly the parts that usually make GTA Online heists fun.

Mansions finally Important more

Players will need the Art Studio upgrade for their Mansion to start the heist. That makes the property feel more useful than just another expensive place to own.

The Art Studio is tied to the setup, with counterfeiting playing a part in the robbery. Instead of only stealing paintings, players will be preparing replicas and using the Mansion as the base for the job.

This gives players a better reason to buy and use a luxury property. A Mansion already fits the art-heist theme, and connecting it to the crime makes the whole update feel more natural.

The art can become part of your collection

One of the better ideas in the update is what happens after the job. Players can sell stolen artwork for cash, but they can also keep certain pieces and display them in the Art Studio.

That gives the heist a more personal reward than just another payout screen. Cash will still be the main reason most players repeat the job, but keeping a painting gives the Mansion a bit more character.

Rockstar is also using rotating artwork, which should help the heist feel less stale after the first few runs. If the targets change enough, players may have a reason to come back beyond the first payday.

This is the kind of update players wanted

GTA Online has had plenty of new content since 2020, but heists still sit above almost everything else in the game. They give players a clear goal, a reason to prepare, and a payoff that feels bigger than regular contact missions.

The Kortz Center Heist works because it sounds like a full idea. It has a strong location, a clean theme, a property connection, and rewards that fit the setup.

The biggest question is whether players will enjoy playing it again and again. The best GTA Online heists work because players want to run them again, not because the first run looks cool in a trailer.

Rockstar needs the payout to feel right

The Kortz Center Heist already has the right setup, but the final reaction will depend on rewards, mission variety, and how much freedom players get during the job. A stylish heist still needs good reasons to repeat it.

This will become even more important because of when the update is being released. With GTA 6 coming later this year, players may treat this as one of their final big returns to Los Santos.

Rockstar has one more chance to remind everyone why heists became the best part of GTA Online. If The Kortz Center Heist pays well and stays fun after the first run, July 14 could give Los Santos a strong final score before Vice City takes over.
